This DIY solar powered kit provides instant light to remote buildings. Utlising the latest technology this high quality solar panel powers a long lasting 9watt compact fluorescent (CFL) bulb (equivalent to 40watt lamp).. One CFL will illuminate a room of 16sq metres (148 sq. feet) for up to 7 hours when used in conjunction with our Solar Battery* or any 75/85 aH leisure / automotive battery
How it works: Put simply, the solar panel charges a 12V battery* during the day, which then powers the light at night. Bright sunlight is not necessary for charging to occur - the system will work even with overcast daytime conditions, both in summer and winter.. . Suitable for Garden Sheds, Garages, Stables, Summer Houses, Emergency Lighting and anywhere without mains power. * NOTE - the battery is not included in either kit - use any car or caravan battery with a rating of 34Ah or above for the Solar mate 1 kit or 104Ah or more for the Solar mate 2 kit, or purchase a battery in the "also consider" menu to the right.
